The electric racing karts at Autobahn Indoor Speedway are nothing like the sluggish, poorly maintained "go carts" you may have experienced in the past. Our high performance Italian racing karts are the fastest in the industry. Each adult kart has a 20 horse power (hp) electric motor that reaches speeds up to 50 miles per hour (mph). Our junior karts reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
Unlike smelly and potentially dangerous fumes from gasoline karts, our karts produce no fume exhaust. Fumes from gasoline engines are do not mix well in an indoor facility. The electric motors in our karts have zero emissions.
Gasoline karts are more prone to flip because they are lighter and their weight is not evenly distributed since the motor is located on the right side of the kart. Flipping is extremely unlikely in electric karts as they contain 4 batteries, making them heavier (approx. 440 pounds), and this weight is evenly distributed (two batteries on each side). Even so, our karts have roll bars for extra safety.
Everyone hates getting stuck in a 'slow kart'. Gas karts are notorious for uneven performance even when maintained properly. Our electric karts have sophisticated, high tech diagnostics that allow us to keep ALL of our karts performing fast and evenly.
This is a safety and environmental concern for gas karts, especially indoors. These issues do not exist with electric karts.
